Sam Loewen

Senior Research Associate

Sam Loewen is a child and family health researcher with an interest in the impact of race, class, and geography on youth outcomes.

Prior to joining Action Research, Sam worked as a global health and research consultant on various projects for the International Rescue Committee, Population Council, and APMG Health. She conducted research, data analysis, and evaluation to improve access to and implementation of reproductive health services, as well as to increase adherence to WHO standards of care for people living with HIV. Sam has also managed programmatic data and evaluated organizational performance as a Monitoring and Evaluations Associate at Ubuntu Pathways. Sam previously worked as a Development Associate at Harlem Academy, managing enrichment and volunteer programming for the school’s children and families. Sam holds an MPH in Population and Family Health and Applied Biostatistics from Columbia University and a BA in Geography from Vassar College.
